The Kuna women rely on making their intricate appliqued "molas" as a source of income for their families, as well as to preserve this traditional craft.  Unfortunately, once their eyesight starts to fail, they can no longer produce the fine detail of their beautiful embroidery and as a consequence their family loses some of their income.
